Government Comms
The inherently rugged design and multi-band (C, X, Ku, DBS and Ka
bands) operational capability of FA-series antennas with their
sophisticated automatic satellite acquisition and tracking system,
combined with our multi-band up/down converter technology and system
engineering expertise makes GigaSat an obvious partner for the
implementation of any satellite based Government Communications System.
Recognising
a demand for compact durable flyaway systems, which will provide high
performance, secure broadband communications from the world's most
hostile environments GigaSat has produced militarised COTS versions of
our highly acclaimed SNG product range.
FA-(M) series antennas
offer the same Intelsat/Eutelsat compliant electrical performance as
the standard FA-series flyaway antennas but feature extra reflector
bracing and detachable oversize feet for sturdy deployment on soft
surfaces such as grass and sand.
A typical FA-(M) series system
will include the antenna and 2 additional flight cases. One case will
contain either a single band solid-state transceiver (with optional
direct docking) or a multi-band TWT transceiver.
The second case
contains either one or two variable rate digital modems in addition to
baseband multiplexing and encryption. This can be altered to meet any
customer specific requirements.
Interconnection between the two
cases is by a lightweight dual coax cable, which can be up to 200m in
length and by incorporating the innovative GigaSat TBS-L IF signal
multiplexer into the system no other interconnections are required.
Full
system control including frequency and power adjustment can be
accomplished from the baseband flight case, and an EOW system allows
communication between the two.
We are acutely aware that an
antenna can become a target and it is therefore considered vital to be
able to position it a safe distance away from the operator.
